Fire Service Team - Slide Fire Area November 3, 2007 Ship members, Venturers from Crew 800, and Scouts from Troops 229 and 607 participated in this relief effort organized by the CIEC Fire Service Committee. Staging in Highland involved discussing plans and reviewing safety information. Most of the Scouts helped staff the relief supplies table at the Running Springs Fire Station while others surveyed fire damage in the area. Venturers and Sea Scouts went on to Green Valley Lake to help the American Red Cross distribute supplies to returning residents. Several buildings along the main road survived, but many more homes were lost. |
